Puyo Concept Car and Bart Simpson
In the blogoshere, the story of Honda’s brand new concept car, the Puyo, is old news. Almost everybody must have read one post or the other about it by now. So this post is not going to bore you with what you already know. But in case you just awoke and are reading about the Puyo here for the first time, here’s a summary: The Puyo is a fuel-cell-powered concept car just announced by Honda. It will be on display for all to see at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show (from October 27 to November 11, 2007) in Chiba, Japan.
According to Honda, the Puyo “is a Japanese onomatopoeia that expresses the sensation of touching the vehicle’s soft body. It is meant to convey a warm, friendly impression”. A little googling also revealed that it is the name of a town in Ecuador, and of a japanese computer puzzle game (Puyo Pop or Puyo Puyo) from about 1991.
The gist of this post is the impression or feeling I got while viewing images of the Puyo: Bart Simpson’s face (from The Simpson’s tv show) kept popping into my head. It was difficult not to think of Bart while looking at the front side (the face) of the Puyo. Click and look closely at the two images of the Puyo in this post (which were taken from here), and see whether you agree with me or not. Think I’m unto something, or think I should step away from my computer screen for a couple of hours. Let me know. Post a comment.
