Outdoors Satellite-based Tracking with Spot Satellite Messenger
Spot, Inc. has just released a new outdoors tracking device - the Spot Satellite Messenger. Useful for tracking those lost or missing outdoors, the device uses GPS network satellite for tracking, and can send a user’s location with a link to Google Map.
The Spot Satellite Messenger can also send pre-programmed messages and make non-emergency calls, all via buttons neatly located in the lower front of the device. The satellite-based tracking works in most of the continental US, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Australia, parts of South America, Northern Africa, and Asia.
This is better coverage than is achievable with current locator beacons. With a price tag of about $170.00 (plus a yearly service fee), this device should make a nice Christmas present for the outdoors loving type.
